Appeals Malawi Ambulance Appeal 2026 Donate Our vital outreach clinics cannot operate without an all-terrain ambulance to transport medical supplies, staff and patients. The current ambulance is unreliable and will soon break down for good. Meet Jeremiah. He is a 44-year-old farmer, living in Nsala with his wife and 5 of his 6 children. The oldest is 23 and married now. The youngest is 4. Jeremiah is also a mental health patient. “In 2010 I had my first episode of schizophrenia. It was a very bad experience. People beat me up and tied me to a tree. To this day, I still have the scars on my hands. They are a constant reminder of that dark time, of a trauma that still haunts me. This first episode was made even more terrifying by the attacks that followed. I feared for my life. I feared for my family." Then, in 2013, everything changed. Jeremiah was introduced to a St John of God outreach clinic. These clinics operate in remote, hard-to-reach areas, using an ambulance to bring vital medical care into the heart of communities. But today, the vehicle is old and no longer fit for purpose. It frequently breaks down, causing serious delays for patients in desperate need of treatment. Soon it will break for good, and these vital clinics may need to close forever. With your support, we can buy and equip a new ambulance, so people like Jeremiah can continue receiving emergency medical care. Donate Now Manage Cookie Preferences
